Preserve, protect, promote and visit the Massie Heritage Center

Visit Today

The Friends of Massie is a nonprofit group of volunteers whose mission is to support the Massie Heritage Center-Savannah’s museum for history and architecture.

Operated by the Savannah Chatham County Public School System, Massie is a non-profit museum open to the public seven days a week and provides quality curriculum-based educational programs to thousands of school children annually.

Located on Calhoun Square in beautiful downtown Savannah, the center provides a variety of interactive exhibits devoted to Savannah’s unique history and architecture. Also, it serves as an elegant indoor/outdoor special events venue with newly renovated courtyard gardens perfect for intimate garden weddings, special gatherings, and receptions.

Beginning in 1978, the Savannah Chatham Public School System began sending hundreds of students each year to Massie to take advantage of this heritage education program. Soon, hundreds blossomed into thousands, as outlying school districts also began to utilize Massie’s educational programming.
